What is Runner Geeks

Runner Geeks is an AI-powered photo search platform designed specifically for race event participants. Users can upload a face photo to find photos of themselves taken by official photographers during an event.

How It Works

Users can set up a Face ID once, by capturing five guided face photos (front, left, right, up, down). The face data from a Face ID is stored on our servers and reused for every later search. When an event page opens, the system automatically surfaces photos containing the User's face. Users may also capture a one-off photo directly on an event page. Search results display photos containing the User's face along with links to the original photo sources. For event organizers, Runner Geeks provides photo management features: managing albums, marking photos for sale, setting per-event base prices or per-photo prices, and viewing event statistics.

What We Are Not

Runner Geeks is NOT:

• A race event organizer — we are a third-party photo search platform
• A photography service provider — we do not take or own event photos
• A permanent photo storage — we do not store original photos permanently

Platform and Technology

All intellectual property rights in the Platform, including but not limited to software code, facial recognition technology, user interface, design, the "Runner Geeks" trademark, the "Find Your Race Photos" tagline, logo, and documentation, are owned by Runner Geeks or our licensors. No ownership rights are transferred to the User through the use of the Platform.

Usage License

We grant a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose. Users are prohibited from reverse engineering, decompiling, modifying, redistributing, or creating derivative works of the Platform without written permission from Runner Geeks.

Third-Party Content

Event photos available through the Platform are owned by their respective photographers or event organizers. Runner Geeks does not claim ownership of these photos. All links and references to original photos are provided as-is from third-party sources.

Uploaded Photos

By uploading photos to the Platform, the User grants Runner Geeks a limited license to process those photos solely for the purpose of face matching and service improvement. This license terminates immediately upon the User deleting the photos from the Platform or deleting their account.

Facial Data Processing

Runner Geeks extracts face data from photos and processed event photos. This data is stored separately from original photos and used exclusively for matching functions. Further details are available in our Privacy Policy.

No Permanent Photo Storage

In line with the Platform's architecture:

• Original event photos are never stored permanently — Runner Geeks acts as a search layer over external providers. Only metadata (bounding boxes, facial landmarks, face data) and source URLs are stored.
• One-off search photos — processed only to build the face data, not stored permanently. Face ID reference photos are stored while the Face ID is active (see 5.6). Retention details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
• Preview photos — generated dynamically from source URLs and held in a temporary cache (500 entries, 60-second TTL). No permanent on-disk storage.

Rights to Event Photos

Runner Geeks does not claim copyright over event photos displayed on the Platform. Copyright remains with the photographers or event organizers. The Platform merely provides search access and links to original sources. Any copyright disputes regarding event photos must be resolved between the User and the photo owner.

Photo Pricing and Sales

Event organizers may set prices for event photos they manage through the Platform's pricing features. Runner Geeks provides infrastructure for: per-event base pricing, per-photo price overrides, photo bundles, and tiered discounts. Runner Geeks will charge a platform fee on each successful photo sale transaction. The platform fee structure will be transparently disclosed on the transaction page before payment. Runner Geeks provides search and transaction infrastructure only. Photo sales are transactions between buyers (event participants) and sellers (event organizers/photographers). Runner Geeks is not responsible for the quality, delivery, or satisfaction of purchased photos.

Face ID

A Face ID consists of five face photos (front, left, right, up, down) captured through a guided capture dialog. The photos and their face data are stored while the Face ID is active and used for searches on event pages. Matching runs on our servers; event pages never receive the User's face photos. The User may replace or delete a Face ID at any time, and deletion removes all related data. Automatic surfacing on event pages is always active while a Face ID exists.

Registration

Users may sign in or register via Google Sign-In, or with an email address and password. Users warrant that the information provided is accurate and current.

Account Responsibility

Users are fully responsible for all activities occurring through their account. Runner Geeks is not liable for losses arising from unauthorized account use. Users must immediately report suspected security breaches to support@runnergeeks.id.

Account Deletion

Users may request account deletion at any time via the Accounts → Privacy → Request deletion page, or by contacting support@runnergeeks.id. The request is reviewed by an admin before processing. Once approved, photo, Face ID, and related face data will be deleted, in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Role Requests

Users may apply for the photographer or event organizer role via the Accounts → Manage → Upgrade account page. By applying, Users agree that:

• Information in the application (reason, portfolio URL, organization name and website) must be truthful, accurate, and current. Applications with false information may be rejected or result in the role being revoked.
• Role applications are subject to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
• Roles are granted or denied by manual admin review. Admins may revoke a role at any time if the User violates Platform rules.
• Photographers and event organizers are bound by Platform rules, including no permanent storage of original photos (metadata and source URLs only), and copyright over event photos remains with the photographer/photo owner.

Service Level

Runner Geeks strives to maintain high Platform availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We are not liable for service unavailability caused by:

• Scheduled maintenance (with prior notice)
• Third-party infrastructure provider disruptions
• Force majeure events
• Actions of third parties beyond our control

Limitations

The Platform uses facial recognition technology that may not be 100% accurate. Search results are indicative. Runner Geeks is not responsible for:

• System inability to recognize faces due to low photo quality
• False positives or false negatives
• Photos unavailable due to access restrictions by external providers

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. RUNNER GEEKS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE FREE OF ERRORS, VIRUSES, OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RUNNER GEEKS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO THE USER FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM.

• The aggregate liability of Runner Geeks to the User for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms and Conditions or the use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount paid by the User to Runner Geeks, if any, during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Exceptions

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain liability. To the extent such prohibitions apply, these exclusions and limitations may not apply to the User. Runner Geeks does not exclude or limit its liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud, or any other matter which cannot be lawfully excluded or limited.

Termination by User

Users may stop using the Platform at any time and delete their account in accordance with Clause 6.3.

Termination by Runner Geeks

Runner Geeks reserves the right to suspend or terminate the User's access to the Platform, without prior notice, if:

• The User breaches these Terms and Conditions
• The User engages in activities harmful to the Platform or other Users
• Runner Geeks is required by law to do so

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, the User's rights and licenses to use the Platform cease. Runner Geeks will process the User's data in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Clauses 3, 8, 9, and 11) shall remain in effect.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, particularly Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (UU PDP) and its implementing regulations, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms and Conditions shall first be resolved through amicable negotiation. If no agreement is reached within thirty (30) days, the dispute shall be settled by the competent district court of Central Jakarta.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with the Runner Geeks Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between the User and Runner Geeks regarding the use of the Platform and supersede all prior agreements, arrangements, and communications, whether oral or written.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid, void, or unenforceable by a competent court, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Waiver

The failure of Runner Geeks to enforce any right or provision of these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

No Partnership

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed to create a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship between the User and Runner Geeks.

All notices required under these Terms and Conditions shall be made in writing to:

Assignment

Users may not assign their rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions without the written consent of Runner Geeks. Runner Geeks may assign its rights and obligations under these Terms and Conditions to a third party in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to the User.

Photo Purchase Transactions

Photo purchases are made through the Platform by selecting photos marked for-sale, adding them to the cart, and completing payment at checkout. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider; currently available methods are Snap (QRIS) and credit cards with 3D Secure verification. Runner Geeks does not store full payment data (e.g., card numbers); such data is passed to the payment provider only.

Payment Method Admin Fees

In addition to the photo price, buyers may be charged a payment method admin fee set by the payment provider (e.g., Snap or card fees). This fee is shown separately and transparently on the checkout page before payment is completed.

Revenue Split

For every photo sold, the net revenue from the photo price is split as follows: Platform (Runner Geeks) 10%, Event organizer 10%, and Photographer/photo owner 80%. The split may be customized for specific events by prior agreement and is disclosed to the organizer.

Settlement and Withdrawal

Sellers' (organizers' and photographers') share of each sale is credited as a pending balance in their Runner Geeks wallet. After the settlement period (14 days), the balance becomes available and can be withdrawn via the withdrawal menu using bank transfer. Minimum withdrawal is Rp50,000. Runner Geeks may hold settlement if fraud or a breach of these Terms is detected.

Cancellation and Refunds

Because photos are digital products delivered immediately after payment is confirmed, purchases are generally final and non-refundable. Refunds are only considered for purchases that failed to process technically or were unauthorized. Refund requests may be sent to billing@runnergeeks.id.
